Person-Centered Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Motivational Interviewing Integrated CareWhether you need help with problem-solving, getting through life’s hardships, building connections, or just want someone to listen without judgment, I’m here for you.
My therapeutic style involves integrating multiple modalities in order to best serve my clients. Doing so allows me to respect and accommodate intersectional identities, past experiences, and personal beliefs in a way that a “one modality fits all” approach does not.
The main modalities I work to integrate into care include Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). I take a harm reduction approach in therapy, integrating feminist theories and trauma-informed care in my practice.
My goal is to provide clients with an accepting space where they feel comfortable and able to explore their authentic selves. I believe in creating therapeutic goals collaboratively with my clients, as they are the true experts when it comes to their life experiences. Through providing validation and support, I hope to help people feel better about themselves and reach their goals.
Who I Support I believe that therapy should be available to any person who needs or wants it, which is why I am proud to be part of a community that prioritizes compassion, support, and collective well-being for all, including populations which have historically been underserved.
I have great respect for diversity and unique life experiences. I have worked with a variety of clients including members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, BIPOC, seniors, teens, those with physical and intellectual disabilities, religious minorities, and more. No problem is too big or too small for us to handle together in therapy.
Thank you for taking the time to read my bio and get to know me a bit! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

BIPOC LGBTQ2S+ Affirming Insight-Driven Person-Centred Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)There are very few spaces where we can safely explore our emotions and learn about the different stories we tell ourselves about our lives. Through my work prioritizing non-judgment and compassion, I hope to make therapy one of those spaces for you.
As a queer and transgender therapist of colour who has navigated their own mental health challenges, I know how vulnerable therapy can be. You don’t want to spend your session time educating your therapist about non-monogamy, or code-switching to make your queerness ‘palatable’ or ‘less complicated.’
You want to feel seen and understood — as a whole human being.
I specialize in work around perfectionism, burnout, complex family and friendship dynamics, value identification, gender and sexuality exploration, ethnicity and race, ethical non-monogamy and polyamory, anxiety, and trauma.
My approach differs from person to person because I value collaboration and meeting you where you are. While I am typically not a big fan of labels, I would label my style person-centred, utilizing a combination of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, and parts work. Harm reduction and liberation psychotherapy also feature prominently in my approach.
Let’s co-create a safe and brave space together! If any of the above resonates with you, and you are looking for individual virtual therapy, please do not hesitate to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. We can use that time to learn more about each other and determine whether we are a good match.

Neurodivergent affirming | 2SLGBTQ+ | Inclusive | Person Centered | Strengths Based Finding the right therapist can be overwhelming and exhausting, especially when you need someone who understands the nuances of being queer and neurodivergent. I believe therapy should be a space where you don’t have to worry about translating your experience and feel safe being your authentic self. Because of my own lived experience as a queer and neurodivergent individual, I appreciate the value of inclusive and affirming care that doesn’t try to “fix” your brain or change your way of being. Instead, my goal is to support you on your journey of self-acceptance through collaboration and non-judgement. Everyone brings their own knowledge and experiences to therapy, and I firmly believe that everyone is an expert on their own life. I use a variety of therapeutic modalities to help tailor my approach to each client. We will work together to understand how best to help you in your mental-health journey. I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I offer individual therapy, virtually, and am here to help you understand and work through your problems. While I specialize in queer and neurodivergent populations, I am open to working with many other communities and approach all clients with the same level of open curiosity and empathy.

I am an adventurer, overthinker, artist, activist, hiker, proud cat parent to two, and a student therapist.

This includes integrating practices from Compassion-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness.

(They/Them/Theirs)
My name is Alex Zebeljan and I’m a Registered Psychotherapist. I offer individual and couples therapy virtually. As a therapist, my goal is that you feel seen, heard, and valued. During each session, I endeavour to create a virtual space wherein you can discover and be your most authentic self.
Some people arrive in session wanting to vent and cry. Some want to strategize and make a gameplan to improve their mental health. Some want to gain more insight into their patterns and see their choices from a compassionate, non-judgemental, objective perspective. Or maybe you want all of the above! We can do all of them together because we create goals collaboratively during sessions. You are the expert on what you need and want and I can help you get there, whatever that end result might look like for you.
As a mental health professional, my treatment specialties include gender and sexuality, LGBTQIA+, ethical non-monogamy and polyamory, boundaries, self-compassion and acceptance, stress management, body neutrality, family and relationship conflicts, emotional regulation, personal growth, depression, anxiety and trauma.
Since I believe each person who seeks therapy is unique, I individualize my therapeutic approach for each new client by using an integrative approach. The most common modalities that I integrate in treatment are Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Feminist Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Harm-Reduction.
